The most interesting thing about this link is the fact that some random dude had the kosmo.com URL all along. Why didnt Kozmo (the company) buy it up?

Our policy is quite clear - we respect the copyrights of our content providers and do everything in our power to drive traffic to them. We currently take whatever is in the feeds. Some feeds (less than 5%) have the full content in the feed.

Thanks a lot... That's my favorite part of the site, and the feature that eventually became NewsCred.

We just launched recently, so maybe that's why. I've bounced around a ton of ideas and got a lot of help from the HN community over the past year so you might have come across related posts before. Anyway, do let us know what you think - al

I heard NewsCred.com is full of awesomeness. In all seriousness, we have thousands of visitors a day loving it, so something must be good about it. Personally, my day consists of Hacker News, NewsCred, some Google News, and a sprinkling of

Thanks! MailChimp looks awesome. First one that Ive seen that it's the YC mold... fun, modern, easy. The rest of the services are all dinosaurs from the Web 1.0 stone ages. I wonder what MailChimp's delivery records are like. Do you know if

You can add users in bulk to Gmail Groups in your contact via a csv file. But you can only send 500 e-mails a day from each e-mail address. So its not really a sustainable solution.

Thats what I'm starting to figure out. I was just confused because I saw a lot of startups say they use Google to manage their mailings to users. Back to iContact or Constant Contact or one of those I guess...

Dude, I know its sounds eager but I've been burned many times before over tiny things like this. Some people take it very seriously, and I'd rather tread safely than piss people off.

I wish you the best. I took this step about 3 months ago (and also announced to the HN community). I've never looked back since. Working on my startup (NewsCred) fulltime has been some of the happiest days of my life. Best of luck!

Wow, I didn't know that. So if we use it, we'll give a double nod - one to HN for our inspiration, and one to SlashDot for being the original. Is that cool?

Very good point. If you look at my slide (NewsCred), my favorite person to twitter is a female: Padmasree - she's the CTO of Cisco. So that proves that there are women twittering, and more importantly, women in high-profile C-level jobs. Bu

I worked on NewsCred for 6 months while keeping my day job. I'm glad I did that - we weren't obsessed with time to market. If you are or have a product that is dependent on getting out there immediately because of 100s of competitors, then

OK, I completely disagree with this. Sure, private alpha or private testing is necessary, but there is a time for a launch PR. We just had a fairly big launch when we went public, and we spent a lot of time and effort (not money) on it. I w
