Well to me the "gotcha" wasn't that you could control the match from the abstract class, it was all the silly things that you could do. Which for me was the point of the article. I mean the first palindrome example was pretty

He is just demonstrating that __subclass__ hook has control over what is counted as a match. Which he explained in another article that it allows the author of the abstract class to hijack calls to isinstance for any instances created from

I doubt anyone is interested but I'm building some tooling for node and npm in jenkins. Just standard stuff, nvm, nodenv, npm and npx wrapper.

You can take this a step further and completely automate the release of your package. That means the tagging, publishing and the GitHub release notes. I don't have a blog post but you can see the process on my personal project https:&

I came here to say this. They contacted me several years ago for a kubernetes role. The pay was half my current position which was also remote... They didn't feel like a leader.

You might want to do some more research. DevOps is for sure one of the top paying engineering positions. I think the average salary right now is 134k a year USD.

Hello HN, I wanted to create something to use as a guide for engineers new to Terraform but also as a starting point with a lot of the CICD already configured. I have more plans for the future but wanted some early feedback. Thanks

I can think of a couple use cases. 1. You started on AWS using Cloudformation and now your branching out to other cloud providers and you want to use a cloud agnostic IaC tool. 2. Your company uses Terraform but you come across a rouge team
