As a user I have not come across any good 'visual' redesign. On the contrary, it annoys me. Immensely; when the f king redesign replaces my known problems for unknown ones. As an example, as contractors, we fill up timesheets ver

For Godsakes drop the architect - sw developer analogy already ! Its broken in so many ways. A developer must be able to produce code that works - compiles and runs and solves the problem at hand. Bonus points for making code reusable, rel

For dominant content distributors and platforms, there is real economic incentive for chasing deep lock-ins. And practically no incentive to comply with or contribute to any sort of standard. That is the unfortunate reality today. If we hav

For a scrupulous 'expert', there's more money to be made by selling you a new product. Or if there's likely to be recurring repairs. One way I think, to safeguard against this is to have maintenance contracts. But i know

I dont believe it either. I dont know of any successful product built that way. I can't imagine Apple building a landing page before the iPhone. Landing pages may serve a purpose but surely not to judge product market fit.

Given the effort that's clearly gone into this article, it would seem appropriate to mention/link to the underlying product near the top of the article. Good job, marketing in a way that didn't annoy.

Outright restricting would seem unlikely given the anti-trust scene they are having to put up against. But, I can totally imagine them introducing an extra step under the garb of "protecting" users like a dialog, a popup coupled w

If you think about the front end ecosystem, in an economics sense, you will notice these distinct players : browsers, JS libraries/frameworks, apps/websites consuming these to provide solutions for the end user and the web devs. T

That right there sounds like a solid reason for Apple to not go that route. Customers who paid over $1000 will now be spending under $500 for an Apple phone. Thats bad for business.

Unfortunately, there is hardly any good measure for future market demand. There's just unproven heuristics, overarching anecdotes and random guesses.

I started something similar. I keep a list of all the money that I saved by either not buying some fancy thing, use a cheaper service, DIY/repair, etc. Then, I spend it on some cheap thrills. Funnily, This process has made me happier.
