Very cool. I wonder what the limitations are? I see the dog I shot is floating in the air. Is that maybe a CSS thing or is it fixable?

That's like saying there's no need for a generic CPU. The only way forward is a ASIC. Once a generic CPU does everything well enough, it's extremely versatile.

Exactly! But AI is here to stay. Sooner or later, even comments on HN will be 100% AI generated. And we won't be here to read them - our AI agents will. /s

Although technically speaking, native is much more flexible as you can literally do anything. But yes, most devs will just use standard UI components and that's it. So your point holds.

Web apps tend to be a mixed bag. After a while they become slow because of dozens of async operations relying on network. That can be an issue for native apps too, but they tend to be designed in a local-first manner, which means that they&

That's a pretty simple view of native app vs web. Web will always have a lot of baggage that native apps simply won't have, layers and layers of abstractions that still needs to load. It's true that a blank canvas loaded as

It's a cute dream to have - running some kind of webserver/API/IoT service off an old phone, but in my experience it's not as easy as it sounds. I had a little fleet of phones doing some IoT-like operation but they event

Ah, I love rustdesk. I didn't know it was Flutter based. Only minor complaint about Rustdesk is that when you send the official link to people, they are frightened by a big scary "Scammer" alert[1]. To you and me, we immediat

Rather stick with Pages when it comes to that. Pages has certainly gone through some waves of where maybe some features were missing or something wasn't ideal, but 10 years later it's so fast and responsive, it makes any other Off

And React has that "web development" ecosystem taint... I'd definitely lean towards Flutter in this case. It's neat, tidy and a contained ecosystem. It may not be fully perfect, but for cross platform UI's I think

I'm actually building a boat game for my 5yo son. We're building it together. I decided on using Love2d as the framework and I'm basically distributing a DMG to family and friends to run it and test it.
