I wonder how the telcos make money though. 4G/LTE/5G towers everywhere is a huge investment, even the maintenance.

30 minutes per day on your iPhone each day is insane. I spend 2.5 hrs according to my phone, and that's about 50% necessity and 50% nonsense like Twitter.

Never understood this.. Window arrangements depends on what I'm doing inside those app, and where I want it. That's not a static thing. I use rcmd as well, but I usually like to keep the app I am using in the middle of the screen.

Sounds like a brilliant business idea... if you can get it to work. People would prefer this over conventional washing machines. It might be a bit fragile though.

Some people will get a fit once they find out it's JS, and not TypeScript.

Arguably that's good though - for the project. It means it's not a bait and switch like many have claimed. You can build pretty much anything with regular Datastar.

So let's say you wanted to use data-animate but on the free edition, would you just add some JS/CSS glue logic to make it work?

Datastar is like Htmx done even better. I'm seriously keen on trying it out. It's not like Htmx is bad, I've built a couple of projects in it with great success, but they all required some JS glue logic (I ended up not liking

Yeah, why have a washing machine when you can just let your droid hand wash the dishes? At high enough temperatures and proper scrub that's likely going to be better and take less time.

Great for the IDF but totally irrelevant on HN. Please avoid politics etc.

Meanwhile in the real world - users do not care at all if it's a Rails app with refreshes or a React app. In most cases, the Rails app is actually better due to its simplicity.

And LLM's should be proficient in Lua and the bindings by now. That will help with velocity.

I wonder what happened with this current company, helioscompanies.com ? Did it go under and is that why he's looking for a new role?

Honestly a bit surprised that he waits 16 seconds every minor change to Ghostty while developing. That sounds painful. Glad Zig build times are getting faster though, and I understand he is still on LLVM.

How so? Any account may transact with any other account - regardless which shard it resides in.

I think the point is that sharding won't really help that much since transactions will happen across all or most shards, and then you have certain accounts that will be more active than others.

How are you planning to generate revenue? My concern will fully free services is that they often don't exist after 3-4 years. Then I have to find another invoice generator. Sticking to WaveApps for now, but this is looking great actual

Correct. For what it's worth, I also run Homebridge and a couple HomeKit devices. Ability to access some devices including cameras via HomeKit and through the Apple TV is a great thing. No setup needed.

If going for an old school monitoring system like this I would honestly rather choose CheckMK.

I've used the previous Sonnet and it's nowhere close to simply building things autonomously. What the heck happened between that and the latest 4.5 to make it so wonderful?

Love it - quite a unique idea! Can I ask about the tech stack - what did you use to build it. Just plain Swift and SceneKit? I did notice the app download is over 100MB, which seems a bit excessive for the game play.

Yes, pig scientists are working on this very problem right now. It gets almost zero attention from human scientists, though.
