I'd hope at least some of the NetBSD developers are paid to work on the OS as part of their day jobs.

If you leave asbestos alone it's safe, and if you need to drill into it, use shaving cream so that the fibers don't get into the air. It's not a big deal if you are careful. But don't be reckless - you need to know what

I think a lot of people use Cursor for this reason. I use JetBrains IDE's and AI Chat, which is able to look at your files, but it doesn't change your files. It'll propose new changes or full source code files when needed. A

Yup that was a great demonstration of 3d graphics too. That reminds me all those years in the late 90s and early 2000s when I spent countless hours trying to get the graphics driver working properly with X. Kept running the Gears demo to se

Okay so it won't run Android apps necessarily or be able to access the regular app stores/Play Store. It will need popular apps to be re-released for HarmonyOS NEXT

I guess Omarchy looks cool but I remember Linux distros being just as cool in 2002 with Enlightenment and many other custom scripts and setups. Unfortunately, Linux on the desktop hasn't moved on much.

It'll recover even after a nuclear war, but it'll take time. But the impact on Earth in terms of resources will also be significantly lower during those 200-300 years it takes to rebuild. The population will be very small, but bei

You're too focused on human lifespans. If you disregard short lifespans, then intergalactic journeys well below light speed (think 0.1c, 0.2c) is perfectly feasible for such a civilization. Humanity will get there too, with post-biolog

I recently saw a full screen cookie dialog, like a full blown control panel with a dozen settings. Can't remember which site, but it literally took over the entire page.

Proxmox is about to miss their window of opportunity here. They are uniquely positioned to take on VMWare, but their outfit seems like a fairly tiny and conservative company with zero ambition to take on the world, so to speak.

I agree with this. For real life stuff, Flask (or Django for that matter, my preference) is preferable over FastAPI. I used FastAPI recently for something that needed super fast (relatively speaking) async. And you just need to build a lot

I highly recommend the Apple remote .. then you also don't need to take your phone with you when you are watching TV, which is an added benefit for some. Of course the thin Apple remote has a way of getting lost, but it has a Find Me f

Also I think even an M3 Ultra is more cost effective at running LLMs than 4090 or 5090. Mostly due to being more energy efficient. And less fragile than running a gamer PC build.
