Do you have a link to Alexander Vovin's presentation somewhere online? It sounds fascinating.

I think the Reason syntax is picking up a lot of steam these days, especially in areas where React is used (web frontends and ReactNative apps). You can see some of the companies using it here https://reasonml.github.io

I haven't heard the term "multiple function heads" - is it similar to Haskell's way of defining functions? e.g. fib 0 = 0 fib 1 = 1 fib n = fib (n-1) + fib (n-2)

H1B visas must be paid market wage. In SF for example, it'd be surprising to see even a junior-ish dev (with some specialization somewhere else) under $100k. Customer service may be lower if that's what the market bears, but the i

I suspect that GraphQL is largely is superset of gRPC, but that gRPC can go places unsuitable for GraphQL as it exists today . Nothing about GraphQL prevents using e.g. protobufs in theory, but in practice 99.99+% expect to send/recei

We haven't made any custom GraphiQL for the desktop yet, I think we'll reach out to e.g. https://altair.sirmuel.design to see if we can get it to ship with OneGraph "preconfigured" with all of the open-source

This is a great point - Stripe is one of the exceptional companies that maintains a great openapi spec though! Even so, the GraphQL experience (with the explorer and some other OSS releases we have for next week) is still just so exciting

I was actually thinking of the crazy stuff the OP does to modify the game (geometry and collision, I think) [1] with rust . I hadn't even seen WindWakerBetaQuest - that's also really cool! [1] Things like custom menus https:

There's also openapi [1], but there's a real social/process challenge in keeping it in sync with the actual implementation. The tools that build on it are great, but there's a lot of surface area to cover when bolting on

We're thinking of adding a "add all" checkbox in the explorer for this exact reason - feel free to open an issue https://github.com/OneGraph/graphiql-explorer/issues so we can discuss it further. Th

Just wanted to say that your rust projects are a blast to watch from afar on twitter. You've done seemingly really crazy things with Rust + Zelda Wind Waker. Thank you for sharing your hacks!

Sure, I just assumed from context that's what OP meant (though I chuckled at the idea of getting on a train, but not in a train car, and what that would imply).

The difference is in the time it takes to track down the aberrant behavior, and the learning opportunities available. In the named case, it's obvious the other programmer may be doing something nefarious. In the operator case, you lear

This is an interesting contrast though - similarly in Paris, apartments can get much smaller than SF. The difference is, in SF, you simply don’t have the choice.

Lots of libraries we depend on throw exceptions, e.g. yojson, postgresql, or even just the stdlib (`Invalid_argument`, anyone?). Because the exceptions aren't statically shown at each usage point, it's hard to know what failure mo

Oh, no, you just need to authenticate with YouTube to run the query. We need to make that much more clear (should be in a week or so, have some big plans for much nicer errors)

Firebase would be a great integration! Being able to query/store data from it, and jump into any service from it seamlessly - that's the dream. We're thinking about different approaches to pulling this off - if it's for
