Reading a bit between the lines, it seems like the buyers either 1) think that ai assisted coding will get good enough that a lot more people will be doing it - that in the future companies in other fields will spend on it for their employ

The best I have found that does this is Master PDF Editor for Linux. Unfortunately not free or open source, but it is good. https://code-industry.net/masterpdfeditor-help/certificate-m...

Sure, I can agree with that too. Although I think 3rd party outrage is much worse, and borderline infantile.

I completely agree with you. I just want to point out that the actual software author here is not being aggressive about it. They make a request and that's it. Nor are the other 55 contributors visible on github. "we ask (but not

You are presuming this is their primary concern. Releasing software with a permissive license is a pretty strong signal you are ok with people not doing exactly as you ask.

I am ignorant as to how most bots work. Could you have a second line of defense for bots that avoid this bomb: Dynamically generate a file from /dev/random and trickle stream it to them, or would they just keep spawning parallel r

I have done similar. It is pretty easy, you just have the slider update the input, that is used for the actual calculations. If I ever get past looking and actually download, I will do it.

I too agree this is great, and see space for another low-hanging UI tweak: Allow editing numbers to right directly, instead of only using the slider. I really dislike using sliders beyond a first general impression because it is too slow to
