I have to give credit for sharing your story and how sophisticated these attacks can be. These scams work because we're human and don't always think rationally under pressure.

If you are using Vimeo to host videos you charge for and put behind a paywall, I don't think it's unreasonable for Vimeo to charge you for it. People here are acting like Vimeo is betraying their users or something, heh.

Just the realization that whatever you are working on will eventually be replaced and will probably be gone in 25 years. Yes, I'm a Javascript dev.

I know everyone wants to paint the Russians as buffoons so hard right now, but do you really think they would organize and target air strikes with public Google Maps markers?

Liberal policies is why Los Angles has been dealing with a homeless crisis for so long. Spending $837,000 to build a single studio to house a single homeless person seems insane to most of the country.

Agreed, if an extinction level event happened on Earth, we'd be better off riding it out underground, than moving off planet.

My brother has flown one of these on a tether. They are deafeningly loud and put out tons of heat so you need special clothing and it needs to be cool downed after use. Have to fly low to the ground or over water where you are better off wi

I hit and reported a very similar bug over a year ago. Try to add a cookie or localstorage entry in Dev Tools on a page that outputs JSON, such as: https://api.ipify.org/?format=json (Spoiler: it's broken) The DX for f

PKI (public key infrastructure) is much more fragile than people realize. Each browser vendor has its own store of trusted certificates. Java, Node.JS, .NET/Mono have their own stores. These are completely separate from the operating s

As someone that has played CSGO recently, it's still normal to come across cheaters. Server side cheat prevention is preferred when possible, but there are just too many opportunities for client side cheating in multiplayer FPSs. You c

I didn't have an ID until I started driving at 15. I wonder how many of the Roblox player base even has a government ID. Will children beg their parents to go to the DMW so they can get verified on Roblox?

Not everyone is wealthy enough or wants to move into an area and buy a house. Landlords make this possible. They also keep up with all the maintenance that any homeowner is familiar with. Houses are in a constant state of decay.
