But… I don’t follow anyone on LinkedIn, I don’t use it as a social network. This suggestions seems like how you’d make it a better “work twitter” which is a product I don’t think I need.

And from a semantic perspective: one of the key definitions of Monopolies (from Wikipedia) is they are characterized by a lack of viable substitute goods. It's pretty clear to me that blocking Beeper is an attempt to ensure that iMessa

Disclosure: I love Apple products and all my devices are Apple. This is absolutely monopolistic shenanigans. Complaints about monopolistic behavior in the smartphone market from Apple are always met on HN with “Apple doesn’t have a monopoly

Do you have tests? I feel like 60% of the errors I encounter is high for type errors. I also feel like with testing, fixing those errors occupies less than 5% of my debugging time.

Great. There are ways around that, ultimately you can work that into the model as a discount. Pretending that fuel isn’t part of the equation doesn’t help though.

Hard pass. You can go back to sending letters with your SSN for employment, taxes, etc and ideally that should mean that your information doesn’t go on the internet. But you’re in the minority in wanting that hassle.

I agree with the code generation of libraries in Phoenix being a drawback. I think it maybe a reaction to there being too much magic in Rails dependencies, but it makes upgrades much harder.

I second this! Every Apple Pay integration I’ve used has been a flawless, so much so that it makes it slightly more likely I’ll buy a product because it’s so fast and easy.
