Honest q: what is meant by "modern Firefox"?

Until you really start thinking about the structural and economic reasons for these changes occurring, you'll be stuck at "but why?" forever. It's not much fun to think about, though.

I don't really agree with the divide as stated here - using Browserify does not imply a need for Grunt/Gulp/new build tool of the week. I would say that npm scripts + Browserify is enough for a surprising number of cases. If

You don't get to just arbitrarily play sounds when I visit your website on my phone, sorry. Yeah, Apple are real dicks for that one.

I hate using git too! But I admit it does have the property of working well, even though it's a giant pain in the ass.

These days I build things that people have been anxiously waiting for. Like, every day it doesn't exist is kind of a problem, that sort of thing. But I have been on the other side, too, building things users mostly hated. Even when the

The number of unread Facebook messages I have is not printed on 30% of all the web pages I visit. This is what I find so irritating about Google+, it's everywhere it doesn't need to be. Comparisons to things like Twitter and FB fa

For video, meaning shows and movies, content is king. For music and writing, distribution is king.

Oh wow, I would never take a pay cut to work somewhere as strenuous as Apple. I don't think I would ever work there at all, but certainly not for less money.

Actually, I have noticed that this story has mostly been picked up by people like you, who want to rant about how terrible and wrong it is. We get it.

ES6 rest/spread operator is really nice for dealing with function arguments. function curry(fn) { return function accum(...args) { if(args.length >= fn.length) { return fn.apply(null, args) }

I tried to watch an anime on there once. When I clicked play I got a preroll ad, fine. 30 seconds in, the same ad played again. I hope that's not normal because if it is I have no idea how people can stand it.

OK. But there are many, many aspects of our own language which don't really make sense. And that would go for pretty much all of them except I guess Esperanto.

This is the fundamentalist reply - the same reply proponents of socialism give when confronted with the horrors committed by Stalin and others during the 20th century. It wasn't real socialism, you see.

That's not really what I mean. I have no problem with, say, reddit deciding that a "fat people hate" forum is not fit for its site. It's their site, they get to decide that. Rather, what I am concerned about is the broad
