Regular expressions can only parse regular languages. More powerful parser techniques can parse context-free languages or even recursively enumerable languages. These are fundamentally distinct levels of complexity. It is fundamentally impo

I remember they eventually added a feature to pretty-print OTR’d messages as something like <OTR encrypted message>. When I saw that I figured they were aware and would soon start blocking it.

Nit: It should be “Air Nomads” instead of “Wind Nomads”. (I know this doesn’t matter but I figured the author would appreciate the heads up!)

I used this when planning out my apartment. I grabbed a floorplan from the listing ad, recreated it to scale in Sweet Home 3D, resized and recolored the bundled furniture models to match the dimensions and colors of furniture I was consider

This feels like it should work from a clear induction argument. Base case: n=1. Obvious. Inductive step: n>1. The nth element swaps to itself w/ prob 1/n, and to any other element w/ prob 1/n. By induction the other e

You mean simultaneous multithreading (SMT), aka hyperthreading. Symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) is when all processors have uniform distance from all memory, as opposed to non-uniform memory access (NUMA).

I think a significant factor in this is that C++ simply has better abstractions for building large codebases than C does. Any big enough C project is gonna turn out a bit funky.

I don’t think this is the right way to think about it. If donating blood is no longer a useful societal good, then there are no ethical benefits. If there are health benefits to bloodletting, then we can do that independently of donating th

Both good points. The split between 2D and 3D in Sweet Home 3D is quite awkward. It is possible to retexture furniture but I never bothered. I think between the better interface and better default furniture you may have something here.
