Using Ember.js as a front-end for their Music services as massive downer. Slow on a Macbook Pro 2014. React or native would have been a better choice.

Does it work with Apple Music? So what defines it as an iTunes replacement? Sounds like a different Music Player, maybe I'm missing something?

It gained me as a user recently. I never used it until Apple Music and with the recent Apple TV it's pretty much awesome. (Replaced Spotify) Though one of Spotify strengths were its API. Apple needs an API so people people can get diff

Turbolinks is a good alternative if you want to stay on the Rails path. While Turbolinks 2 just replaced <body> with Turbolinks 3 you can replace partials without resorting to js.erb-templates.

I agree with you. I my family and I also grew up in an islamic enclave. We saw the hell it caused. Pretty much all ex-muslims by now. People like the parent will never understand and will keep insinuating you're racist and they are bri

Good luck in the Army! The Middle East doesn't need more foreign bodybags (good or bad guys) but support, training and equipment. Last I checked they are begging for armor and winter gear.

The US doesn't need Saudi oil as bad today which is why you're getting buddy buddy with the Shia-Jihadis. Also known as Iran. But don't worry, when they say Death to America. They don't mean you ;-) Not sure if Saudi le

A blind focus on ISIS is also a mistake as Al Nusrah (Al Qaida) is also heavily funded and commits atrocities as well. They are backed by Muslim Brotherhood from Turkey and operate in Syria. I consider Muslim Brotherhood with Khorasan group

Good article, summarise what I like and don't like. I wish it would delve deeper into versioning with some code samples. The way I've done it in the past is just inherit from a controller and just override an action as well as th

When it breaks they have to deal with it, not the f.lux team. It's the same reason they don't want apps that ask you to throw your phone in the air, or put a bag full of sugar on the screen for weighing purposes. Not justifying an

Outside of engineering responses I've noticed "progressive" (regressive left) comments never get down voted. Basically take anything Randy Marsh would say from latest season of South Park and you'll get up voted. No matt

You could fork the libs and point to your own repo. That's what we usually did with Cocoapods.

From what I can gather, not with V3 and above. I think starting V4 they will go render-agnostic so they can use Vulkan and Metal. Besides, there is more than rendering for a decent engine. Managing controls in an agnostic way is nice to. I

An alternative is Cocos2d-x, but they manage memory using a single autorelease pool.

yeah I am familiar with ownership from Obj-C reference counting. But the problem is when your own code interacts with the framework that uses its own internal way of managing memory (ironically it's a copy of Obj-C reference counting)

Yeah but the problem is that your benefits depend on the libraries you're using. You might not be able to use unique/shared_ptr because of some framework using different conventions internally. But overall, I agree with you. C++11

Does your PS3 have IR to be able to control the TV volume and turn the tv off? Easiest one of Apples coolest feature or I am probably easily impressed as I haven't touched the TV area for a long time.
