Okay, you got me. I am in the camp that says calling the library is (in the general case) obviously the better choice. My (camp's) reasoning: 1. Your handrolled solution is likely worse than the library anyway 2. You're wasting ef

Racket has already been mentioned in this thread, but I think https://beautifulracket.com/ deserves a special mention. It is a diamond of programming literature and fabulously teaches the topic of language oriented programm

What is Wasp implemented in? It has the feel of a Racket project for some reason and I'm curious if my intuition is right. But either way, curious to know how this was made. Pretty cool

One way to avoid poverty in that case would be to not buy a yacht, for example. Any amount of money is nearly poverty level if you spend it all on luxuries. Edit: I am dumb and completely missed the joke. Poe's law in action!

I used to agree, but the name actually seems to have an ironic marketing benefit: Everyone ascribes Cockroach's success to its technical merit. I've never heard Cockroach criticized as another dumb web dev trend caused by marketin

I completely agree with your overall point, I was just making an aside about the tendency of more inherently secure systems to sometimes lead to dev laziness. The same thing can happen to Rust devs, but I wouldn't argue that it isn
