Yes it does. Because the light bending by the Sun (predicted and measured in early 20th century) is bending of electromagnetic waves.

I am a scientist myself (obviously in one narrow field) and my approach to trusting the science is that unless I can myself evaluate the evidence, data, analyses, I'll trust the scientific consensus. I will not necessarily trust single

It'd be cool to be able to show the most similar fingerprints for any location. I.e. I want to see which locations have similar climate to city X.

I'm sorry, but studying category theory to save the planet sounds like something straight from 'the Onion'. For sure there are topics that (IMO) are worth studying to save the planet, i.e. physics, physics of the atmosphere,

Yes, I share similar thoughts. It was exciting when Julia came in, and it looked like it's going to replace a lot of python software in science. The symbolic differentiation is still quite nice. But every time I tried to code simple pr

I am wondering to what extent the central planning is much more tractable now with the amount of data and computerization. It is not like free market is perfect in adjusting either (i.e. situation with timber or computer chips or containers

As an immigrant (first in the UK after than in the US, followed by return to the UK), I can say the annoying things about different systems are unpredictability and long delays. I agree that it is up to every country to set up the rules who

That is your opinion. From my point of view, what I have seen is consistent with both natural and lab leak hypothesis. One can argue how much indirect indications tilt the scales one way or another (from my point of view not much), but at l

It is good there is more data being collected, so we can discuss actual facts with evidence, as opposed to pure speculations 'I believe it is a lab leak' vs 'I believe it is natural'.

I have no sympathy for researchgate. They syphon papers, they used black patterns early on to mass-send emails to invite people on the platform. And finally, as a researcher, I never found researchgate to be actually useful.
