As a researcher I say it is a good thing. Provided it gives a small number of errors that are easy to check, it is a no-brainer. I would say it is more valuable for authors though to spot obvious issues. I don't think it will drastical

I think GPS is a very good point. I wonder if the capability to disable it exists, and I don't know what effects that will have - i assume many new devices can now use European's Galileo system. (while writing this I can see GPS

I agree with this view completely. I think some of the programs probably went over the top in my view and I would not mind the pendulum swing back a little bit. But the current government seemed fixated for some reason and just want to kil

And what? You know that for example endowment funds have restrictions on what they can be spent on. This is really victim blaming. I would not have an issue if the government has said that for future grant rounds there will be limits on o

The fact that the budget is being reduced after it has been negotiated means a cut. And you obviously have no facts to back up your claim that this money was used for "adminstration expenses"

I don't mind a goodreads alternative, but regarding the UI from 2005, I am not sure I care. It works and people are used to it. I am not a supporter of "let's try build a new interface using shiny new technology" for the

Amazing commenters here -- for them people are like cattle. "Temporary move". Graduate students without an offered position -- it's nothing, they'll just wait a bit. Cut one funding one day, maybe release later.

I am puzzled by the fact that the modern LLMs don't do multiplication in the same way humans do it, i.e. digit by digit. Surely they can write an algorithm for that, but why can't they perform it ?
