Thanks for pointing that out! -- I've been missing a feature like that in Numba (which is, otherwise, really cool).

This was incredibly useful, many thanks for posting. In particular I was really confused about the difference between ".der" files and ".pem" files. The concise, pithy, style makes reading very easy.

Racket is such a cool project. I keep telling myself I'll find the time to do something serious with it, but I never get around to it. One minor bit of criticism - would be it be so hard/expensive to hire a designer to do some min

I'm sure Rust works great :) But vcpkg was made by Microsoft and I suspect is rather easy to get working on that platform. On the other hand, I've used conan and had no problem e.g. getting FFmpeg working. And, thanks to conan

Someone else has mentioned vcpkg. Another project that gets you closer to Rust or Go in this respect is conan, which I really enjoy using. It's still not as polished as other package managers (e.g. maven), but for a lot of very useful

Awesome post! Looking forward to teaching my daughter and (later) son programming too -- though it's going to have to be Pascal, which is what my dad initiated me with :)

This comment is rather amusing -- probably unwittingly so -- when juxtaposed with (your) preceding post. In one, you ask us to empathize with the feelings of one group of people, those who are flustered by seeing (horrible) extremist pro

Wow -- it's amazing how bad the answers are on stackoverflow. The first reason why there are both sharps and flats is historical. Equal tempering produces the same pitch for, say, D# and Eb. The same was, however, not true for some of
