If by any chance you have not watched "Arcane" I very much recommend it. Haven't seen much anime apart from the classics (cowboy bebop and the like) and never played League of Legends myself, but found Arcane's whole sto

I think the people in europe are still incredibly varied and colorfully different. Its just that foreign (US) brands have penetrated everywhere. If you wanted to hangout at McDonalds and Starbucks _you can_ and it will be the same experienc

Visiting Copenhagen I pondered on those points too. Denmark seems to be a society that firmly embraced “centralized digital currency” - even the beggers have POS terminals and if you _request_ a cash payment at a restaurant people look at y

I definitely share this belief. When I started delving into functional programming I was immediately struck by how whole classes of problems just disappeared once people found some useful abstractions. Programmes that took thousands of line

A lot of the other posts kinda miss one obvious solution. Yes you can “charge” for your stuff. I’ve learned not to even try doing work stuff for friends - “yeah you probably can’t afford what I’m gonna charge” kinda answer. But if its trivi

While this is indeed a very good advice, I learned how to cope with this a little better than “just don’t care”. Mostly because I do enjoy coding, and am still sentimental with code I’ve written decades ago. The trick is to split that kind

Just ended a 10 year relationship, better than most people have in a divorce I guess as we were not married and didn’t have children - the major point of contention. I wanted to start a family and build something lasting, and my partner app

Visiting Herculan in Italy (the _much_ better preserved sister city to Pompeii) really put those kind of things for me into perspective. There are street numbers, pubs, fast food joints, various multi story buildings with some of the murals

While I’ve done similar fasting myself, with the same wondrous effects you describe, I want to point out that it seems this might be a lot harder to do for young women (in child bearing age). My partner tried to replicate what I did since I

Keeping abreast with Russian sources as well, I would hazard a guess that it’s a little bit of both. All of those things seem true, but Ukraine has so few forces and Russia has so many, that it kinda balances out. And this is not highly tra

I’ve found eating once a day to be quite tough on the finances. We often eat out, so instead of ordering just dinner, I get all my calories from that one meal, which ends up being quite expensive. So at least for me fasting turned out more

While it does get you the fastest results if your goal is to gain wait, I personally wouldn’t put fasting into the same “impulsive” bucket. If anything it should be the other way around - fasting can be a way to teach yourself to tolerate&#

I’m a huge fan of the berglas approach where you pass “location” of the secrets in env vars and the app loads them by itself. This allows you to keep permission grants separate, and you can safely send “.env” files and (gasp) save them in v
