Otolaryngology is considered a surgical subspeciality, at least in the US. "The first year includes experience in general surgery ... The last four years of residency are devoted to otolaryngology–head and neck surgery training."

YMMV of course. Did you get skin and blood testing? I've found that dedicated allergists tend to be more thorough about this, but there's no guarantee that allergies are the cause of your sinusitis.

I had turbinate reduction after a series of never-ending sinus infections. Lessened the symptoms somewhat, didn't abate. Went to an allergist, found out I was allergic to pretty much everything outside, went on immunotherapy for 5 year

This is a YMMV situation I think. In our case, when we only had our Type 1, we did deals _conditional_ on getting Type 2 within a year.

The Homeless Industrial Complex is as responsible for maintaining the conditions in SF as Chesa and his hands-off enforcement policies are. A lot of strife in our society today can be attributed to non-profits being incentivized to keep the

Especially burglary. The scariest stories of post-Chesa SF for my money are the home invasion ones when the owners/tenants are present in the home. Burglaries in Texas don’t happen unless the thief is 100% certain nobody is home.

Right. My point is that many federal agencies have mandates that dictate where they focus. For instance the SEC may come after any privately-owned startup, after the fact, if there’s overwhelming evidence of fraud (see: Theranos). But when

I think you overestimate how much the professed beliefs of the region coincide with the actual beliefs. Having lived all over the country SF is one of the more hypocritical places I’ve been. You don’t see nearly as many Black Lives Matter s

We heavily debated going with StimulusReflex instead of LiveView because of the team’s existing familiarity with Rails. In our experience StimulusReflex doesn’t work because Rails isn’t fast enough. Phoenix is.

There are vast amounts of data that you have to disclose to FDA that you are permitted to mark as not for public disclosure. If you ever FOIA records from FDA they are heavily redacted.

As someone who did 5 years of immunotherapy, which changed my life, I can vouch for this being a brilliant idea. My allergist told me after completing the full course of treatment that <10% of patients do so because of the diligence requ

This article is more evidence that major media outlets hate tech and will slant every article to find a way to smear tech. Here’s how: imagine a Miramax development executive, circa 1999, bringing in a movie that was about an actress who wa
