To point one, a former co-worker of mine cooked up a great algorithm that measured how much time a user spent on your site and how far down they scrolled and then presented that as aggregated data on the different levels of engagement users

The hedonovat was a construct of the American pragmatist John Dewey to understand at a relatively simple level, what motivates people. Why would you want to live forever? The human condition is predicated on birth and death. As an academic

I have to respectfully disagree with you here. Death is most definitely NOT nothing but pain and loss. For those living in chronic pain, it is release. For those of us who manage to live our lives forgetting those who have hurt us as a copi

That's a fair point. But in my limited sample size, there are plenty of companies that at least for a few years function just fine with full remote.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree here. If you're heads-down on a project and it's not contributing to the value of the product, there are other issues with your business than remote-v-office culture. If pivoting your e

An interesting reflection on fasting while trying to work. Curiously, I have had the opposite experience of working while fasting, though it may be very different to fast for one day at a time. Still, I fast between dinner on Sunday and din

Ironically, the thing we've been told to cut out of our diet for the last 50 years might be what we've needed all along. Vitamin D is fat soluble and generated by sunlight. Lard from a factory raised hog is going to have almost 0

I actually really appreciate JLG's tone when reporting on Apple. Given his history with the NeXT-BeOS debacle, I wouldn't expect him to be so charitable. Of course, time heals all wounds and I get the impression JLG is pretty well

I think it's a reference to how some businesses go out of business when the the theory that people will pay money for a product fails to hold true. Tower Records being one such example. That said, the tenses and general grammar of the

That's fair enough. But a lot of business spends a lot of hours creating a value proposition for it's employees. That turns this idea into a self-fulfilling prophesy sort of work environment.
