RoR or Python/Django would do. RoR is probably in more use then Python, but Python/Django is a solid technology. PHP is on its way out.

It's a start up the same way the 4-hour work week is a work week and the 4-hour body is a workout book :) In other words, brilliant satire!

I don't care so much about the all in one page, but having to roll over the image to see the text was too difficult. Took me a minute just to figure it out. Have the text below the image without having to roll over it. I also had trouble

Wow, I'm surprised by all the developers on Microsofts side on this one. Google spends a lot of money developing proprietary algorithms for determining search results. Microsoft is then stepping in and taking advantage of the money Google

Anyone who writes a js library gets props in my book, even if I'll never use it :) It's a great way to learn about javascript.

The two are similar at first glance but pretty different when you get into it. jQuery specializes in making javascript/DOM interaction drop dead simple. Nothing else out there comes close to achieving this as well as jQuery. When I write

Start by implementing yourself a complex javascript widget. Like, say, a datepicker. That's a reasonable complex widget. Or start smaller with a dialog. Then, start going through it finding ways to optimize, rinse and repeat.

Now that you've done some basic programming in C++ and Java, you are in a little bit better position to figure out what kind of programming you want to be doing. The C family is a language used in corporations for programming applications t

I don't know about "must" know html/css, but to get beyond a certain level of competency in designing web pages, to be able to make designs that are easily transferable to code, a knowledge of html/css will come into play. I've worked with

I think having a good technical co-founder alleviates the need for getting as much seed money. If they have access to a lot of seed money, then they can afford to hire a designer/developer and give them a smaller chunk of the company. It'

This seems like a lot of whining to me. 33% does not seem high for total taxes for employment. That's the total that both the employee and employer pay together. Sure, they could do more without having to pay that, but they also wouldn't

Working with static types feels like wrestling the code around. Why should the programmer have to care about internal dynamics of a language that are the difference between double, long, int, Integer, Long, short, etc. The compiler or run-t
