Surprised no one is talking about how this is Walmart's version of AmazonBasics... Here are my thoughts: It's interesting to see big online retailers make their own cheap brands to monopolize their sales

Training kids like this reminds me of training AI itself: Make the reward getting a better grade and the kid will only optimize for that. Eventually the kid (the agent) will be out in the wild and they will have a weak understanding of what

I've never seen a company aggressively hire as much as Cruise did in the last 3 years. Obviously this is a bad thing, but not entirely surprising they had to hold the brakes during this time.

What exactly does Deno do? I still can't figure it out: is it a secure version of Node, if so, how?

Definitely: “hackers phone number” is an oxymoron, because no somewhat experienced hacker would ever give out their personal number. Don’t be shocked if it’s some twilio or google voice number

Afaik, bitcoin addresses are easily interchangeable, so you can make a unique one every-time someone transfers it to the poker site. So how can CB find out if you're using it on poker?

Here's some context: both you, me and a majority of HN readers have decent lives and cushy tech jobs (I'm a student and have the luxury of coding all day). Think of everyone else: those relatively regular/average people in Am

Fairly sure the country as a whole is more stressed. Economy and media at least portray that.

+1 on this. Get a nice server with some GPUs and you'd save a lot more than paying the super expensive costs on cloud.

Well, given that I am using Docker it doesn't really matter much... but the bigger issue is: GCP in the past has completely blocked access from accounts when they detect random things. Unless I meet their demands, my entire infra is go

This is AUD. In either case, I'm not entirely surprised. I'm repeating what many have said before: If you're a legit pro / enterprise, the value behind the Mac Pro is probably a lot more than the minuscule amount you

I use a CI system like Buildkite to build on my Raspberry Pis and then consequently deploy them via Docker Swarm. Working well so far. Although in a similar HN thread a few days ago, people pointed out that docker buildkit does do cross-arc

I can attest to RPI i/o speed: its horrible. Combined with the fact that I have to build Docker containers on the RPIs themselves(because of arm), its more of a hassle than a cool add-on (to be clear I'm running Docker Swarm in a

Just know that: much of the stuff OpenAI and other research orgs put out (including mine) are heavily cherry-picked. Most of the time its pumps out gibberish, but in the off chance it doesn't it gets used as marketing material.
