Interesting. Was thinking that some startup could exactly do this, but realized that given how deeply integrated SAP/Oracle is (as mentioned in the article) it's very hard to do. Basically: Make a really bad product + make it miss

Thought I was the only one, but I primarily use GCP because: #1: $300 in free credits. It’s by far the best thing about GCP; especially for cost sensitive developers, it’s priceless. #2: easier interface than AWS. I know 99% of the time I u

Nicely written article, but I don’t see what the use of an ERP is? Can’t it just be replicated with some excel spreadsheets?

I think it looks nice (dharma.io and openai uses similar color gradients). Is there anything particularly bad about this?

In today’s world, literally using bare html is probably better. Just list what you know and show some projects related to those. I like your animations, but I find it a bit weird... although I respect that you can still do that if you pleas

From all the Mac horror stories I’ve heard, it’s only making me realize by bottom of the line 2016 mbp w/o touchbar is abnormally amazing. I currently have 15 windows, 10 chrome windows, around 200 tabs, 20 sublime text boxes, and a to

Just checked and I'm doing TLS. You can easily do this with Traefik (which I will include in my upcoming post).

I think I was doing TLS at one point, but removed it temporarily in an effort to focus on other infrastructure stuff.

Very soon. You can always email me at hn@sdan.cc if you want immediate help (although I'll probably go over every point in the blog posts). But as a summary: Small GCP instance as "hub" Server #1 connects to the "hub&quo

Tried inlets but wasn’t sure of reliability and it didn’t have a set price; figured out a way to replicate this with WireGuard. Also kind of annoying that every endpoint needs an entire new instance. I’m serving millions of requests every w

If you need any help, let me know at hn@sdan.cc. I'm going to write a couple blog posts documenting how to do this (because it took me a full brain-wrecking week to figure out how to do this properly). WireGuard for networking and Trae

WireGuard is absolutely fabulous. I route all my traffic from a couple servers at home to a small GCP instance (don’t want IP to be public) and I added my laptop to this WireGuard network (although technically a peer) and I can ssh into it

Kind of surprised how they did this. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc. has hard rate limiting and crazy scraping prevention. Wonder how hard they worked on their scrapers.

Well I don't really want my home IP anything to do with my websites (don't want to deal with dynamic IP or whatever) so I just route traffic to a GCP instance (pretty small one) that routes to the internet (meaning cloudflare). GC

Using an old desktop my dad gave me to spin up some websites getting 1,000,000+ unique visitors monthly. It has some basic specs: 12gb RAM and 8 cores from a decade or so ago. Was using Raspberry Pis before, but given that many Docker conta
