Yeah that's right. We create "patch parts" that contain the updates, and merge them along with the usual merge process.

I think we do allude this in the post, if my understanding is correct. AFAIK both ClickHouse and Postgres are using MVCC, so when an UPDATE is run, a new version of the data is written and the original data is not changed. In ClickHouse, we

One of the post authors here; I just want to stress that the goal of the post was not at all to be "haha we're better than postgres" - we explicitly call out the caveats behind the results. Prior to July 2025 (ClickHouse v25.

Is the proposition in the OP not pretty much what you're suggesting in your blog? They're currently not using the query builder syntax, instead its pretty much "improving on SQL as strings" with a bunch of the other ORM-

Without doubt, the majority of the market for OLAP today is still internal warehousing & BI. But the market for using OLAP behind features inside user-facing B2C/B2B apps has been kicking off for quite a few years now. Big consumer

It's an interesting proposition. There's a lot of good tooling for data engineering work on OLAP, but there's really not much out there for devs that need to integrate with them. Does it have anything to help a dev with query

Interesting, that's not a problem I've come across before particularly - could you share more? Are you looking for setups for OSS ClickHouse or managed ClickHouse services that solve it? Both Tinybird & ClickHouse Cloud are ma
