There was at least 1 other. One of the non-winning parties later bought another unit in my building and came by to chat. We had some wine, and they told me what their offer was. It was only $3k less than ours. In vino, veritas.

I must have found the only buyer's agent worth a salt. 4 offers all closely lumped together, and the seller's agent wanted to do anothe round of best and final offers. My buyer's agent convinced him not to, that he would tell

Yes, their emails were pretty clear about what they wanted. They wanted exactly what I stated. Why is this so hard to believe? You say it's an anecdote and that's no good. What else are you looking for? Testimonials are pretty com

Leap of logic? Howso? It's fact. I fail to see how a presentation of facts (one you might not like) ends up being a leap of logic.

That was the PR cover. In reality, it was a power grab by the Indian government. How do I know this? Because we repeatedly asked them for the list objectionable content. Chances are that it violated our ToS, and we would take it down withou

Is that the "thanks for all the help in WWII" program that I hear Australians refer to? Many Australians I've met have mentioned that it's really easy for them to come and work in the US because of "this program&quo

As someone involved in running a site which India blocked [0] in the winter of 2014, I have no love for the India government. That said, is it possible that you're confusing corruption and cronyism with a lack of free speech? [0] http

You could try contacting Wave about a direct connection. They recently acquired Layer42 and have more fiber up and down the peninsula than they know what to do with. It would cost a few $k, but you mentioned that's OK.

Anyone can join RIPE and get another /22 now. How is that not clear?

First you need to get a ASN. Not hard these days with 4 byte AS support. NRC and yearly fees for this. Next you need to either get a direct allocation from a RIR (RIPE, ARIN, APNIC, etc) or buy/transfer IP's from another party. De

No. Not true. All RIPE participants can get another /22 right now. [0] "We are now allocating from our last /8 block of IPv4 address space. This means that LIRs can request one final /22 IPv4 allocation (1,024 addresses)

FWIW anyone can get a /22 from RIPE right now. Just need to pay that 1500 euro membership. Not that a /22 is huge but it beats dealing with sketchy people.

No, that's not the case at all. Laws without enforcement or strength are a waste of time and the legal process. They should all have teeth, otherwise it's just a waste. This adds teeth to the previous law and makes it worthwhile.

Layer 3 routing everywhere. No need for spanning tree. You've got things like VXLAN that can emulate layer 2 inside of layer 4 where necessary (mostly things like vmotion). I run several spanning-tree free networks and will never go ba

Why are you not encrypting your MySQL connections with SSL? If you're in the cloud, you absolutely should be encrypting. Even if you're in your own colos, you should be encrypting (in the chance of inter-colo queries). Seriously,
