I am pretty sure that it has long been illegal to fly any non-FAA-approved aircraft (whether manned or not) near airports without that airport's approval. Does that qualify as some regulation to you?

Happiness can trivially be due to things beyond our understanding, so challenging that emotion can make one conclude that one has no good reason to be happy. Unfortunately, I don't think this works very well with emotions like anxiety

I have no experience compiling anything on OSX, so I am not sure if I will be very helpful. Looking at the download page, it looks like the OSX version is 32-bit only: "It should compile and run on 32-bit GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, Mac O

FWIW, PicoLisp[0] is one of those lisp dialects that went way out of its way to be syntactically simple/pure/consistent. Whether this is a good idea, I don't know, but it is nevertheless an interesting example of a modern-ma

I always find it strange how people are seriously concerned with trolling. I understand that children, the emotionally immature, and the psychologically ill are actually harmed by trolling. However, those people are already at risk of bei

This and Lisp-flavored Erlang make me wonder how far one could take the idea of a Lisp syntax atop some other language. As a half-joke, I wonder if one could make a Lisp-flavored C work; should I fear or be slightly bemused at the idea of

Why is this phenomena a cost to society? By this phenomena, real prices are able to decrease, with all the concomitant benefits of having reduced expenses.

The original keyboard design was meant to be used to type the characters present in the APL code page [0]. My intention was that one would still be able to type the same (or perhaps mostly the same) characters as the original keyboard but

I think I came up with the idea about 6 months ago. It is on the back burner until I can find a way to mount the switches (Cherry MX Blues (had enough of those lying around)) [0] without resorting to a PCB. Any ideas on that front are wel

A few months ago, I had the idea to remake the old Space Cadet keyboard. One change was to make the bucky bits (e.g. control, alt, meta, super, etc.) allow you to type unicode characters instead of APL characters. Other than that and havi

Perhaps lisps do not benefit from progression in libraries; creation of new resources; and don't need to change often enough to warrant new documentation. What does it mean when a language becomes less and less useful without its speci

If I met someone with whom I shared numerous characteristics, I wouldn't find the coincidences interesting nearly as much as the engaging conversation with someone who was effectively a stranger a few moments ago.

I don't think that phones are secure, but people do use them for things like 2-factor authentication. I suppose that it is the form-factor that is more relevant, since most phones are smaller than a TI-83, so much so that people are w

Infatuation is the word that I think should be used in place of love in this context. Most people want love, but seeking to get it immediately (instant gratification), dooms one to stay in the infatuation phase for lack of sober relating w
