The idea in the article is a pretty well-worn one, which does work: make a visual record of your training or other beneficial activities, so you enjoy having a streak and don't want to break it. X's on a calendar. The article itse

I think we'd have to file that under "reasons to be optimistic" but it's a grim entry. A full-scale second civil war may be pretty damn near impossible for the reasons you mention, but on every other front than physical

I think that offshore is Q4 2022, though very hard to tell from those colors in the coverage map. Really unhelpful visual design there!

I think at those prices you'd have a boat big enough to have the power budget. It's clearly aimed at commercial or scientific use with a side of super yacht. I'm guessing a more affordable version more like the RV product wil

The socket half of the lightning connector is actually pretty delicate inside: there are little tiny fingers that contact the strips on the plug. It's quite easy to damage those fingers and ruin the port when cleaning it out after expo

My Tele has a six saddle bridge, so the intonation is fine but now there's twice as many screws to cut yourself on. I like to think the guitar demands a tribute in blood before it'll sound good, certainly I've bled into it a

I don't think it's healthy, and I suffer from that too. But I'll turn away if I see a tourist point a camera at me (well, not at me, obviously, at whatever interesting thing I'm standing near), I'm obsessively priva

I was fortunate that my last team was a group of engineers that all liked video games. So we downloaded 0AD and beat the crap out of each other for a few hours one Friday. Crucially, they'd been nagging ME for months to do some sort of

I found that too. It’s relevant today I think, as office-based companies start to think about hybrid futures.

A bit hidden here is the tech they’re using - vacuum tubes! Gyrotrons. There’s still a few hair-raising applications remaining for this lovely technology for which there are no solid state alternatives: Ultra fast high energy switching (kry

Your IMG might be from Gem Paint? I remember that extension from my first computer, and that's what we used. It's about the right age. EDIT: Ugh, maybe not, I looked at LINEN.IMG and there's a lot of text in there.

> Or a naturalist tale of trying to turn the desert green? That's an interesting premise, and a nice third way between the obvious and tired approaches of Imperialist Exploiter 2000 and Mujahideen Simulator.

So - interesting, turns out it is done, and in this very area too. I read the 1960 report of their dive[1], linked to in the parent article. And it talks about "800 TNT explosions" preceding their dive in the Trieste. [1] http:&#x

This is ambitious. It seems to be an attempt to cram a lot of information and functionality in a single page, which should be applauded. Right now there's lots of little gremlins in here: Click the CAGED button and a piano keyboard app
