Does anyone else here feel that the current iPhone and Android apps are just an in-between step to mobile-apps being simply websites in a mobile browser?

Was Microsoft ever such a big brand? Google is, Apple is, Dell is, but with Microsoft it is more like many Brands: Windows, XBox, Zune.. I think the main things that people immediately associate with the actual word "Microsoft" might be mi

Good comment, but what makes you believe StackOverflow is "incredibly more complicated" than Facebook?

I wonder how many people after having bought the VHS, then the DVD will now buy the Blu-Ray box.. The article is entertaining.

Warning: Big pictures of food inside. (only click when you have just eaten or are about to eat.) Seriously: Nice idea and implementation. I'll bookmark and hope for much more content to come.

Another mockup app? Oh, well. But jMockups is nicely done. Personally I'd like a feature to export to PDF and/or PPT and a print-view (which automatically takes care of the PDF-export). The Popup-Controls are well-done, but I'd like to use

Nice service, just tried searching "save" and I find it funny that what apparently is the standard icon still shows a floppy disk. Somebody should survey 10 year old kids if they know what it means..

I've been downvoted a few times and it was usually deserved. Also I had cases where initially it would go to -2 or -3 and then go up again to +2 or +3. Thus I can't confirm your observation of "blind down-voting". Sometimes a popular HN use

Windows 7 has an abstraction layer for Documents ("Library"). Otherwise a good Desktop search can provide an additional layer.

This makes Google a white-hat hacker that shows a security problem. I've just been to Spain and was able to connect to unencrypted wifi spots on almost every street-corner with my phone.

I'm speculating, but I suppose value from this data can be anything from geographically locating ip-addresses to improve location based services to wireless-router manufacturer statistics.

I don't remember why Zune has a bad name, but I suppose the early models weren't as good. The 2nd gen Zune that I owned was a great mp3-player, definitely up to par to the iPod. And if WP7 has a Zune-player built in then that is a selling p
