What should kill Facebook is an open, distributed system. It should be more like email. That's why frid.ge stands no chance, because it is basically the same as Facebook. I have hopes for Diaspora. Openness and profits don't have to be excl

Neat, but such a list needs information about who created it, when it was done and what sources were used. Right now it's pretty much untrustworthy and therefor useless.

Fun-fact: 1/3rd of german parliament members use the ipad every day. The number is increasing, since they found out its paid for by taxpayers because its a device useful for work. They also changed a law that previously forbid using electro

Slightly off-topic: I tried to use Airbnb recently and although I understand there's a business reason for not being able to contact other people in this website directly, e.g. via email or phone, I found the means by which the website trie

Interesting how the tide seems to turn. My Conspiracy theory: I think Facebook might have gone to far with Facebook Deals. Now Groupon, its friends and other bystanders start to react less kindly to Facebook's business model: Copying ideas

Hm. I'd say that is not the easiest target audience to go after. I think you are very likely to fail, even if you produce something revolutionary. If it's that good there are probably hundreds of competitors of which some will be able to co

Scoreloop, OpenFeint, GameCenter are already quite established and comprehensive frameworks. It will be hard to catch up with any of them unless you offer something unique or unless you can identify and address some of the pain points devel

You think there is a risk? If no-one cares, does it mean that they won't care for a first playable version? I thought of posting intermediate builds to download and try out as well. Bad idea?

Thats right, the least we can do is figure out, what to do once its out. A development-blog can't hurt either I guess. Perhaps for some people it's interesting "how games are made", perhaps targeting a more non-techie crowd.

Do what Tim Ferriss says: Go on an "information diet". You don't need to have all the news. If it's really important you'll hear it anyway. Relax. Also for Twitter: Follow real people only and only those that don't tweet 100 times per day.
