How do they know that fraudsters with fresh cookies and no referrer history aren't just in private browser mode? Sounds like the server would view them as the same in most cases.

this will take the fun out of buying a new phone. upgrade the dirty old one you have that's full of hair and pocket fluff. modularity works great on a desktop PC, but I'm skeptical that it will appeal to many people in the mobile

Purely speculating... Modular phones will create opportunities for high quality audio drivers for Android. Apple products are synonymous with quality audio, and Apple's success is partly attributed to it's investment in music tech
