Ugh, not available in Canada. Way to kill my excitement, Apple. Edit: Canadian link worked! Sorry Apple.

These days it does, but I remember that when ClearType first came out it was mind-blowing. These days it's looking pretty shabby when compared to high density displays.

My point still stands. Time to load is only part of the equation.

Doesn't it all depend on how long they spend on the site? If it's one page and bounce, sure, that's a terrible experience. More pages than that? Now we're starting to see savings.

> Chrome’s v8 at least bails out its JIT process if a function is either too big, or if it has too many entries in the switch statement. Is this true? Anyone have some sense of why?

HN hellbans, so you might not realize you're not being heard. I'm seeing [dead] markers from matrax6 and mantrax7 (although oddly enough, not consistently). Can't comment on the quality of the code. Your problems sound atypic

Aside: Why do you have so many accounts mantrax? At least one of them is dead, and I'm sure you can imagine why.

One of the main criticisms of git has been its user interface (which to be fair, has improved considerably over time). People often compare it to Mercurial's, unfavourably.

There's nothing saying a full-stack developer can't focus on one area when needed? It's not as if you've specialized in generality -- you're just interested in everything.

This is all well and good, but am I correct in saying that we won't be able to use native arrow functions for years . It's kind of tough to be excited about.

The examples don't support deep linking, so here's how you get to the example: Try It -> Examples -> Coroutines

Flexboxes don't really help. The reason that floats exist is so that elements can flow around them.

It's surprising to me that there isn't a single positive comment in this thread considering how amazing this is. Sure, it has other implications, but were we really hoping to prevent computers from recognizing faces permanently?
