> The point of the survey is to test whether or not people are aware of what google is doing with their data, not whether or not they're okay with it. I'm not sure that's true. From the article itself: "DCN surveyed

I had a similar reaction as redwards510, but you bring up a good point. You could do an "are you aware" question first, then follow-up with "are you okay with" right after. Another alternative is "are you surprised

I believe Kubernetes itself supports that kind of a change - that is, re-applying a config and creating or deleting resources based on the update. I would say that helm is batch, in that it's applying a bunch of stuff at once, but not

How would the open reputation score mitigate bad-faith actors trying to exploit the system? For example, I believe HN has a vote-ring detector, but I think there's also a decent amount of manual intervention from the mods. Amazon'

For this to be useful at scale, you will need to not just design this for good-faith users, but also against bad-faith actors. If this catches on, it will become a target of coordinated disinformation campaigns. Have you been thinking a

David Simon has earned the privilege to write that word with a straight face. (I think Stephen King could also pull it off, for different reasons.)

Yes, Simon points this out explicitly: "Why bother to fight for 10 percent of a few dollars more for this story editor or that co-executive producer of some actor or director when to NOT do so means less freight on the operating budge

I am an individual and not a hivemind. I, personally, find piratebay unethical. I pay for what I consume. Paywalled scientific articles are a different beast, which I don't want to get into here.

I read that paragraph, which is why I felt he buried the ledge. I think that using someone else's work for your own gain without permission is unethical. It also doesn't address writing fake restaurant reviews.
