CO2 can also reduce cognitive capacity. It's useful to monitor, other than just being a proxy for air quality. Sidenote: it's a fun project to built your own. You can buy the good sensor from this test (Senseair S8) for about $20

I would have assumed the same, but Docker makes ~100m ARR on docker desktop so it’s def not niche. https://sacra.com/research/docker-plg-pivot/

Not really. It was a 2 company colab with a pseudo spec. But their implementation had quirks that weren’t in the spec, and weren’t documented anywhere. We spend a week building a decoder and kept finding new undocumented bits. I wouldn’t ca

Thank god they went with a standard this time. When they launched HEIC, there wasn’t a single workable open source decoder. Hell, there wasn’t even a single non-Apple decoder. XL color depth looks amazing.

Yup! One of our targeting properties is `contacts_permission`, and it will return 'limited' with the new setting. With the SDK you could formulate a response to the change and ship it; all through JSON over-the-air update. For exa

Hi Everyone, Wanted to show a new project of mine: a “Growth SDK” for mobile apps. It lets you define a growth plan for an app, entirely in JSON, and update it over the air outside of your release cycle. The JSON can control many features w

They killed an 8 year old girl with this attack. I'm sure there was already a huge amount of collateral damage from 2000+ eyes-off-taret explosions.

Asking clearly if an app can send you notifications is consent. Sounds like you have a high bar for notifications, and likely don't tap OK that often. That's fine; that's your choice. But calling a crystal clear opt-in mechan

This is all bound by Apple's opt-in policy for notifications. You'll never get one from an app where you didn't consent to receiving them. Full agree apps should only send notifications worth your time, and risk getting unsub

Saying "competitive advantage" so directly is surprising. There must be some magic sauce here for guiding LLMs which boosts performance. They must think inspecting a reasonable number of chains would allow others to replicate it.

Same reason. Rendering more apps at full screen in real time takes a ton of GPU. Adds ~5x the pixels, and 5x screen scale transforms+effect. All the optimizations for “that’s hidden”/“that’s background” go out the door.

Serverless Bedrock helps. Close enough to per token pricing of others if you need to be on AWS.

They use GPUs under the hood for inference/fine-tuning and charge by token. Fireworks will even let you deploy a Lora serverless at the same pricing as base model. But not aware of any “lambda”-like serverless for any old CUDA workload

Unless I'm mistaken, stage manager requires running 5 apps simultaneously when iPads were previously limited to 1 or 2? That includes 5 render pipelines (way more pixels to push than exist on the physical display). There would be hardw

Exactly. Almost anything can kinda work on older devices. But lots of little details make the difference between a good experience and a poor one. Which simd instructions did it support. What’s the battery impact on that BT chipset. Did the

I still use my first gen pair bought on day 1. Got sick of waiting for them to die and finally bought Pros last month. Battery life has declined but still work great otherwise.

I maintain a pretty popular template for SaaS websites. Every few weeks someone would send a PR with all their private fork data, then quickly try to delete it. Making it a "template" repo mostly fixed the issue. That creates a co
