Almost bought one of these, but opted for a raspi and usb3 external drive instead. Works great with Time Machine. https://saschaeggi.medium.com/use-a-raspberry-pi-4-for-time-... was my guide, though I deviated by using ext4

I'm so fascinated by the idea of self-hosting email, but /every/ time I see it come up on HN, someone asserts there be dragons, followed by lots of agreement. Maybe I'll try it on a toy domain anyway.

I was almost 30 when I had my first ever panic attack. I was alone and convinced it was a heart attack, called 911, and felt fine by the time the ambulance reached the hospital. Embarrassed, I was ready to brush it off, but instead saw a th

Can anyone elaborate on how JetBrains was involved? I don't have access to the whole article, and results from my searches are ambiguous.

Not the parent commenter, but I have an app whose web components inherit from a class with this constructor: constructor(html) { super(); const link = document.createElement("link"); link.rel = "stylesheet&quo

A blessing! In my case anyway. It only happens when I intently listen to music: headphones, dark room, clear head. It's like a reward for focusing in. Thankfully it's not intrusive; doesn't happen when I'm driving or wor

This was fun to read. "Gadget" definitely needs definition. Does it mean: has moving parts? Requires electricity? Contains "electronics"? If here it means "surpasses its expected lifetime as an electronic device&quo

Trebuchet feels dated, especially when bolded and part of blue + orange scheme. That look was very trendy a few years ago. Also, too many faces. Two faces usually work fine. Maybe replace all the Trebuchet with Maven Pro, and all the Lucida

Now would be a great time to build a new FOSS e-commerce platform that runs on commodity hosting.

I gotcha. FWIW, simply changing the email subject based on the respondent (or some other id) would let threaded email clients work their magic. It is annoying how multiple CL convos intermingle, all because they share the same subject lin
