Ha, have to look like a human, too true! Sadly, sometimes I have to think about when the last time I was outside. Not good.

I can empathize with this situation. I don't know if 'boredom' is the right word for it, but maybe. I would look at providing more freedom for creativity. If you know the developer well enough, you know it what angle that cre

Congratulations patio11, you sound excited. I am curious to see how this will work for those like yourself that make CRUD apps. I didn't go to school for programming, but self-taught. I'm afraid it'd be over my head? The best

I sort of agree, however most teams also build on the previous year's team. So the first team has a much larger task, but it does get incrementally cheaper and easier. And if there are some initial specs that people can follow, then it

There really isn't anything I can do either. My VM isn't back up yet. I'd go to sleep and just expect it to be online in the morning (when it really matters), but I'm afraid a drive won't reattach or something like

That is a terrific answer. Our understanding of history and especially the 'rewriting of history' never ceases to amaze me. I read a history of Christianity book several years ago, and found it fascinating and inspiring.

I've thought of doing something very similar, but specifically for .NET web apps. It's a good way to work on fun projects! Plus, you'd think that you'd get more work afterwards from people continuing on the project. Best

Funny, I have all my SharpPLM stuff on Azure (free with Bizspark!). So I was going to set up a blog with Wordpress just like you guys did. Same initial experience, it was super easy and quick to get up and running. I haven't fully made

I think that's very true. Azure websites is overall a great ASP.NET solution (one I'm planning on moving my SaaS product to).

I've personally never used it, but I've heard great things about Perch ( http://grabaperch.com/ ). It's supposed to be very simple to work with and get a "simple CMS". Wordpress can be used to do many

You're right on. I am using Bizspark. The software you get is free to keep. When you start out it feels like hosting costs are expensive. But if you are making money (and money is the validator in my opinion) then it becomes negligible

Thanks for the update of what went through your minds. Keep track of how customers use it. You will likely be surprised by what actually is done with it.

I like the idea. I can't think of a specific use-case for me yet, but email integrated apps are often pretty cool and make for easier adoption.

No, my SaaS business (sharpplm.com) is quoting and document control for small manufacturers. I like the dogwood idea in general, but when you're in a different industry vertical it doesn't make sense.

It is very true that manufacturing is a vertical that is WAY behind the times. I have a small SaaS product in the space and when I meet customers face-to-face, I'm often amazed at how far behind their systems are. The bright side is th

I agree with a lot of the other thoughts. Specifically, the first paragraph needs to be shorter and clearer. (There is also a typo in it "...with others at who are at the same event...") Also, I would suggest changing the main but

SharpPLM (document and quote management for small/med manufacturing companies) is still pretty early but I make $200/month. I feel like I am still figuring out product/market fit.
