This is not necessarily true. For example, your market may be too small / niche to attract venture backed companies but large enough to sustain your lifestyle business. Edit: Foiled by my delay settings! Damn.

If we had 10 years warning, we might be able to stop it. If we could get out to it while it was still very far from Earth, it might not take much energy to deflect it. This is why it's important to build systems to detect such objects,

Yeah, totally. There are some good Canadian cheeses but for the most part the local dairies seem focused on producing large quantities of cheddar. I'd love to be able to buy more European cheeses at a decent price.

Seeed also does a fair bit of open source work - I've used their CAN library and the associated Arduino shield fairly extensively, and it's worked out quite well. Would recommend. https://github.com/Seeed-Studio&#x

VHS and other analog media have distinctive characteristics (eg. scanlines) that some people find appealing. The same thing happens with analog audio formats like vinyl records.

Agreed. This should be a case study for the importance of following best practices and adhering to appropriate safety protocols. Such protocols should exist in any organization that designs products for other people to use.
