If only deploying Kubernetes was as simple as running a golang up and etcd tolerated some latency, you could spin up a node in AWS, another in Hetzner, and a third in DigitalOcean.

Are there any repairable, washable, wireless earbuds out there that are decent with Bluetooth 5, noise cancelling, etc.? I haven't found one yet but I'd love to know if there is a site or wiki that lists repairable consumer electr

Toilet privacy seems to come up at every company I've worked at. American stalls tend to have large gaps whereas European offices usually have private rooms with their own sink and mirror. Bathroom hygiene seems less important still ev

Yep, everyone loves it in the beginning and then the warts start to show. It's a really bad feeling when you get stuck not being able to do something in HCL. Then you Google it and find 50 other people had the same issue and were told

RedHat can still make life hard for this project. They can stop publishing srpm metadata or pull non-gpl software entirely. Thinking back at how long we used to wait for CentOS releases following a new version of RHEL, this is pretty amazin

They played games for so long with keeping it closed source and then only opening parts of it to ECMA and then advocating Mono before finally opening more parts of it. I wanted to play with LINQ back then and couldn't. So non-MS people

It's not clear to me how Amazon is even a "quasi-monopoly" as you put it. What are they doing to suppress competition? They aren't forcing exclusivity. A few rich guys put together Jet.com ~7 years ago. A totally indepen

Lots of egregious violations of #4 and #5 where I work. Leaving a meeting or not even showing up to one even if only to just "observe" comes off as passive aggressive.

A bit of a snarky comment but I do agree that many tech companies have been sitting on their hands waiting to mimic what the FANG companies are going to do next.

For new hires I suppose it's okay but to adjust the pay of an existing worker whose output remains the same afterwards because they relocated is a bit insulting to me. It's a pay cut, not a "COLA".
