That's funny. My mother sometimes laments over the fact that modern washing machines are too quiet and she doesn't know when the laundry is done. This is like the IT guy equivalent!

You are thinking of dark energy, which is a completely different beast (also a lot more vague). Dark energy is the "why is the universe expanding so fast"-stuff and dark matter is the "why are galaxies so heavy"-stuff of

I understand the motivation but I disagree that NaN should not equal NaN. The es docs even explicily mention that "to ECMAScript code, all NaN values are indistinguishable from each other." I'm writing javascript and I don&#x

Interesting that NULL = NULL is Unknown. I'm not a fan of random values trashing my equivalence relations (looking at you, javascript NaN), but I'm sure there are practical reasons.

Funny, now I am stuck with a TFS -> grunt -> sass -> css workflow and it's still less featureful than a modern DSSSL would have been. Somebody write a proposal to make it a web standard! It looks lovely.

Ha, nice. I've written a command line mail sending thing that works pretty similarly! But I was thinking more along the lines of sending only the markdown over the wire and mail clients adding support for it. We could just start doing

I wish we would all write email in markdown. It's readable as plaintext and if your mail software wants to make it look fancy it can.

Bit off topic, but is the WTFPL considered a standard licence? If I want to give people the ability to do whatever the fuck they want to with my code, is the WTFPL considered a good choice?

psh, it's 2017. Clearly we should switch to hex, ditch scientific notation and decimal points and all that difficult junk, and just use IEEE 754 double precision notation for all our calculations. Granted the sign bit in front makes he

Difficult navigation is enough of a problem. Seeing just a single letter of the page title because you have a hundred tabs open makes finding tabs really hard and cumbersome.

To be fair, I'd trade that for a += record.bool ? 1 : 0; if I can have less awkward type coercions in return in a heartbeat.

Cool! I was just looking up hilbert implementations yesterday, so that's super useful. Thanks! (quick note: in your source the function is called hilebert instead of hilbert)

Does this also mean that in the function that returns an object vs. prototype debate the former wins because object literals presumably require less class transitions? let Ctor = function(a, b){ this.a = a; this.b = b; } vs let obj

I use the ternary operator all the time. result = boolean_flag ? do_this() : do_that(); I think it's less noisy and nicer to look at then an if-else, provided the statements aren't too long. God forbid multiple

I ended up laying my fingers flat on the keyboard (thumbs still on space) so I can hit more keys while mashing, lifting them only to set calendar appointments. It's like I've become a parody of myself.
