Not to be nitpicky, but you probably want to review how you typed those numbers. The second is smaller than the first, and the commas are not grouping the zeroes in groups of three. I suppose you mean either 10^5 or 10^6, but I'm not

Since space is the standard argument separator in most shells, yes, obviously. The problem can be worked around/handled in various ways, but it's still a problem, of course.

> Downvotes? So you agree with this? Whether we agree or not is not really relevant. Advising people to not read a bug report because one of the comments in the discussion associated with the report doesn't appeal to you is... str

Unless I'm reading the table wrong, US is still at 7.6 deaths per billion km, while Denmark is at 3.4. That's more than a 1:2 ratio. I'd certainly say that's safer (even if the difference is smaller than GP indicates).

I must have read a dozen (conservative estimate) articles now all called "Why you should never use MongoDB ever" - or permutation thereof. Each and every one of them ought to have been called "I knew fuckall about MongoDB and

Not that I know anything about the software in question but... don't run it on a production host. Or when you're connected to a production host. 99% of your work should be spent on non production hosts. Fire up your old XTerm or w

The difference is that in Denmark (I assume) you trade unemployment benefits when not working to a roughly equivalent salary when you start working. So no, you don't gain anything. With the proposed Swiss system, any salary you earned

On the other hand, everybody knows they have to make up bullshit passwords to pass arbitrary restrictions, so they may never try an easy to remember but good password on the few sites that don't.

Thank you for posting that. I always knew the two behaved differently, and how - but I never really understood why. Your final line cleared that up.

No, rereading your post now it's very clear what you meant (unless you have edited:) My mistake, I must not have been reading properly - or more likely, was too tired and should have headed to bed instead of posting. Apologies for the noise

After switching to dwm a few years back I wouldn't dream of switching away. The tags (which are not workspaces) really are a killer feature, and the simplicity makes it win over other tag based WMs. Anyway, what's your problem with Chromium

Yes, I agree. At least when/if the technology becomes ubiquitous. If I'd had to answer this poll in 1995, and it had said "mobile phone" rather than "3d printer", I'd have said "never". I didn't (and don't) particularly need one, but it's

Good catch. I certainly phrased that wrong. What is allowed, and open to anybody, is the kind of service that is charged strictly by time unit (usually by hour), and (as far as I know, at least) they don't need a taximeter. I think this is

No, you will have to compare the individual products yourself. But since products of the same type is usually on display close to each other, and the price is displayed in the same unit, it's not very hard. In practice, this means that most

Reading their press release (the Swedish one, I'm a native Swedish speaker) I get a feeling that they are, quite frankly, not a serious business. It's filled with paranoid tinfoil hattery where they claim the Big Nasty Government is out to

Water's freezing point is easily the single most important temperature there is when it comes to (outdoor) temperature. Essentially, it tells you whether travelling is a deadly hazard or not. It tells you whether to expect snow or rain (whi

We're not saying rape. We're saying våldtäkt (which is a broad term). The closest equivalent your language has is rape. Something apparently gets lost in the translation, as is so often the case. Let me give another example of a broad term:

So, why does this need to be built on a piece of dirt that costs $1.7M? Trust me, I love Tesla, and would certainly like to see a museum dedicated to his genius and achievements, but this seems like a waste of money, thrown on whoever the f
