How to Cook Everything would be a more modern alternative that's just as good IMO.

And that’s totally fine because unlike a corporate office, the only people there are those who find value in it. In my case, my house is often a circus of kids, grandparents, and caregivers so it’s well worth it to have a place I can escape

Coworking is absolutely still going on. My wife and I go to https://kiln.com/ which is a fantastic option if you are in SoCal or Utah. They seem to be thriving. The workspaces are fantastic, they get us all the benefits of

Will it distribute training across multiple GFX cards? I have a 4x 2080Ti box I would love to be able to use for this sort of thing.

Another Utahn here and I feel the same. I don’t really see how this could work and think it will probably go away quietly, but I’d kind of love it if these platforms (and the social pressure our kids feel to be on them) just went away.

Why can't stripe let them expire, and then issue new grants to all affected employees with the same nominal value as the expired grants?

Honestly liveview + tailwind is just so good that I don't think this is a bad decision.

Yep, that’s exactly what I did. I came back during COVID (after leaving to move away from an office five years prior) and chose to return at the level I left at rather than deal with leetcode interviews. It was a rough personal time for me

One thing that complicates this is that Google (and probably the rest of FAANG but I don’t have experience there) is happy to severely downlevel people versus the positions they could get elsewhere. They also aggressively cut compensation i

Oh wow they won’t even let your kids finish the school year before making you move? So they don’t actually intend people to relocate, they just want more attrition it sounds like.

Several different teams at Amazon were trying to get me to join - from my home nowhere near an office - less than a year ago. Are they literally firing everyone who isn’t commuting distance from an office?

Oh that’s interesting; I haven’t heard of that at Google. Makes sense though as it maps well to a PI role in a large research org.

I made mine based on an ancient cls file years ago, update it every year or so and it's worked great. Repo is also public (you can click on the PDF to see what it looks like) at https://github.com/sbrother/resume .

May I ask how you're getting ChatGPT to be reliable enough as a service to get these results? I had a similar experience the first week, but now most times I try it is overloaded and inaccessible, and when it's not the hourly rate

I've spent the past day playing with this, iteratively feeding real tasks from my software consulting work into it and building with the output. At this point I am convinced it will replace a team of smart junior developers under me, w
