This is my logic. I don’t feel like wasting my single life reading blogs and watching YouTube videos about points/benefits. Would much rather buy out directly. I also value not dealing with the frustrations/loopholes/asterisk

I agree also. Another method, albeit more advanced, is an option to not show on mouse clicks, and do show when using the keyboard or cycling through tab indexes etc.

We’ve been burned by long download times not only to transfer from a remote cloud, but related to IOPs requirements when transferring tons of small files. Now in each DC, we keep a day or two of backups on several servers loaded with Enterp

I’m curious if anyone has done any analysis and seen any patterns emerge around days of the week >> certain popular HN topics (controversial/rants/per category)? Kind of similar to the analysis you find around best times to

I think shortcuts like the following are fundamentally flawed, at least when dealing with user input. If (user && user.name) { ... While it sucks to have to even check for user etc, not checking that it’s truthy, then an obje

To be honest, just having a defined, literal type is not going far enough. Is there a built in language strategy, in Rust for example, to define a complex numerical type that has common properties like min/max range, exclusive min/

To help with readability but allowing for complex input checks, I typically abstract the input validation to another function, called near the top. I think as time goes on type checking will be the least of our issues. Checking for differen

I agree that defensive checks may clutter code, but in the current landscape of constant security issues, to not use a battery of defensive checks whenever dealing with input is simply naive, no matter the IDE, compile language or runtime l

Great news! I have a friend that works at Pledge 1%, A company that is based on this idea, I always thought it was a cool concept, maybe doing something like this (or similar) for Open Source would be interesting. https://pledge1

A side benefit that I hadn’t really considered but seems obvious; By taking in skilled workers from other countries, it’s like poaching talent from another company. Then they aren’t contributing to or building companies in their former coun

Aren’t they adding gc to node.js/js or some part (I read somewhere) and/or multithreading/parallel processing? Not really me, but it seems the market is demanding that functionality if it’s coming up?

I’m curious how the internal meeting (at the newspaper) goes, when they have no actual proof, such as an actual compromised device. How could you possibly publish such a huge/important story without that smoking gun? We live in too muc
