I think what the commenter is referring to is this: " I often get so bored it's hard to pay attention because either 1) they left something out that I wanted to ask about so I can't follow what they are saying, or 2) I alread

I could have worded that better. I think it is in indication that burnout is headed your way. When you don't want to a do a job anymore that you used to like doing (bored if it) and you are being forced to continue doing it, burnout is

Burnout always happens, in every job. Solution? Well, first, not everyone has the privilege to do something about it, but you're in tech so: Vacations. Sabbaticals. Gap year. Change jobs. I've had 35+ years in tech and done all of

I don't see a FIPS certification for it? I mean, at least show us some NIST 800-22 results. We already have a DRBG RFC to account for poor-entropy systems that has considerable research behind it. This seems pointless.

For me, lower cost: I'm already paying for an EC2 instance so the incremental cost of the routing bandwidth is negligable compared to the cost of a new ts/wg service.

FYI: After reading your post I installed it and found this AWS how-to: https://github.com/jameswmccarty/aws-socks5-proxy ...since I'm already using an EC2 instance for my own personal stuff.

Whenever I get bored (rarely these days) I like to write path-finding & annealing algorithms. I start with a super simple ray-tracing framework I first wrote in the 1990's for visualization, and then I play around with things like

These are far more satisfying than dot matrix or laser printers. I used to draw stage lighting plots with them in college in the mid-80's. So much fun to watch them work.

Why the concern of these people? Someone might get credit who doesn't deserve it? There are bigger problems in the world, and life is about getting fucked out of things you do deserve all the time. Meh.

That is far, far less likely than a package being abandoned. What happened to your project? What "commercial interest of foreigners" went under that doomed you so?

I think this argument is about free vs. not-free frameworks. Frameworks that are supported by a company and actively developed are far superior to the state of NPM open source right now (thinking of Qt vs Electron and my 7 year battle with

Steve Reich did a number of pieces that are loopy and programatic in the 1960's and 70's, but with analog instruments. Kind of like Javanese Gamelan but more western style. Music for 18 Musicians The Desert Music Drumming I think

For this statement to make sense, the reader would need to assume that I think I'm the only one who didn't know this. Since I stated I didn't know this in my actual post, and since I assume you read it, I honestly wonder what

Agreed. Think of all the other things we have come to take as normal. Carrying car keys (or a fob) House keys. Wallets. IDs. They all require some mental effort.

After reading this thread, it seems like a necessary paradox. Some quotes in here claim that to use some other number doesn't really allieviate that risk since it is effectively transferred to the signal servers. E.g., there's no
