Can you also include a screen shot of the ssh connection process? The article stops abruptly at the most interesting part: using the key.

I dated a charismatic christian who did the whole laying-hands on thing and speaking in tongues as a kid. Weird stuff. But not any weirder than any other religion system comparitavely.

You're not overthinking it at all. I have two YubiKeys for that reason. I also have a fire safe with some important docs in it (hopefully the yubikey won't melt!). Plus, I'm older, and I'm getting forgetful, and I worry

Carmack wrote a great article on this a decade or so ago, but now every time I search for "carmack + latency + network + games" I get millions of hits about his recent VR stuff. Thanks SEO. Anyone remember the original article?

That's really interesting. So a company would hire Crowdstrike/VMWare, and say "here's all these endpoints, make sure they are secure"? And then CS/VM would provide the service to manage the assets and their co

Grove.co is a great example because it is totally not a software company. Is your role as CTO primarily the ERP & storefront, or just one or the other? I'm not following what you mean by endpoint (other than "storefront"

But did he know EMC's ownership of VMWare in 2016 was going to turn out to be such a stellar cloud performer, or was that just IP portfolio luck?

You still needed programs like Copy ][+ and Locksmith. For example, common strategies were half and quarter track writes: shifting the head a small amount, which makes the disk unreadable by the system function calls, but not by its own boo

That's a good point: this discussion is in the context of TOR, so that does self-select to some extent. It would make more sense for my argument if I knew what are the top-20 sites used by TOR and their JS requirements. I know people u

Try limiting players to 60 minutes per day. In the BBS days this worked because you got two TURNS per day. 24/7 access is what kills this sort of thing, IMHO.

I enjoyed space-trading games back in the BBS days, but somehow MMORPG blew those out of the water because people will play 20+ hrs per day and skew the economies into country-sized alliances (`Eve` I'm looking at you). No Man's S

Actually it is the opposite: it is harder to test software. Software fuzzing is more difficult as function parameters can be (literally) infinitely more complicated to define (e.g., variable length strings), whereas logic test vectors are 1

It is not healthy to live under that kind of pressure from others. And one thing therapy taught me: there is absolutely no reason for you to live under that kind of pressure. None. It is your choice.
