Nice to see a handful of people have seen through the Keynesian idiocy they inculcate everyone with in public education!

I misunderstood you at first. That’s an interesting speculation, but it remains to be seen what will happen when inflation is near zero. If people value transacting on the network, then they will pay the necessary fees to keep it running. I

Prove it, show me the world where we had a stable monetary supply that resulted in people having no incentive to invest in anything — where’s the experiment? Again, you HAVE to spend money to live (otherwise you die). It’s impossible to liv

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, your comment is spot on. Governments can’t be trusted with money, the incentive to cheat is too great.

That’s not a bug, it’s a feature — if it were easy to extract (like aluminum), it would have been much more inflationary and thus not a “good” choice for money.

“You need inflation for proper incentives. It's like a tax on the entire network to keep it supported. Without proper incentives, the game theory collapses.” What, specifically, do you think the consequences of a stable money supply ar

Why do governments have to simultaneously be in the business of (1) securing people’s property and (2) creating money and regulating the monetary supply?

Exactly, any supply of money will do, no need to permanently increase the amount in circulation — this is why the market settled on gold (which has an inherently low inflation rate due to the difficulties of mining) and impossible to pass o

I 100% disagree, the central planning of money is (1) what causes inflation, and (2) greatly exacerbates (and in many cases creates) financial crises. Any supply of money will do, the idea that money should increase in supply along with pop

Absolutely — I would gladly trade all my gains for a world where governments have no control over the creation and regulation of money.

Yeah, I hear what you’re saying, the book goes more in depth, and again the question becomes — so you’ve internalized feeling worthless, what is the solution? I believe the book provides a key to understanding how to resolve those feelings

I can’t recommend The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk enough, I wish this book had been out 10 years ago before my mom took her life. Nonetheless, it’s been instrumental in helping me alleviate my anxiety and depression. I read

I agree with most everything you’re saying, but it doesn’t change the fact that the healthcare industry is giving specifically harmful advice to people rather than drawing a hard line and saying it’s urgent and imperative that you make beha

Where did I say anything about type 1? And even though most type 2 diabetics aren’t (yet) on insulin, the advice they get does nothing but ensure they’ll be on insulin soon enough.

How about we stop masking the problem of insulin resistance by pumping type 2 diabetics with insulin? Why don’t we start telling diabetics the truth — your diet is broken and needs to be fixed; avoid most carbs, do strength training. We don
