Love the Golf, but honestly, the hatchback versa's space efficiency impressed me more than the golf. It's significantly smaller than the golf, but its tall, has a smaller engine bay and very thin doors. It was easier to pack my fi

Putting the seat there is easy. The trick is making it safe when it's on or behind the rear axle. Everyone else in the car is in a cocoon.

Most mid sized SUV (the most popular ones) are minivans dressed up as SUVs. Unless you're looking at an expedition or the like, they're all unibody, front wheel drive, and turbo charged inline fours. Just like a minivan. The SUVs

Yup. I can squeeze the kids in the Golf... if my eldest doesn't use her booster. I can put them in the Sorrento.... But I have to buckle her into her seat belt while shes standing holding the boosted. Then I have to lift them both to g

The Earth doesn't feel anything because it is not sentient. Anthropomorphizing topics causes us to treat them emotionally. The OP has an excellent point which you didn't address them: most methane in the atmosphere is from natural

At what frequency does the signal travel between traces and not on it? Is it a feature size thing, the macroscopic size of the traces that are effectively transmission lines (that cant be, most pcbs are smaller than \lambda?). Or is it a sk

I was referring to smoke specifically the visually imposing clouds car produce which forms our image of car emissions. Of what you listed, only particulates add to the smokiness of a modern engine and then only when its cold. Unless its br

It is bogus, because the OP talks about "efficiency" therefore implying CO2 emissions (since energy is the product of making CO2). The OP has confounded the CO2 emissions and volatiles. Where leaf blowers' emission fall apart

Naw, volatile organics. Compression ratio isn't great on these things since half the time the gas is terrible -> no pressure, no NOx But they are two stroke so a little but of gas and oil leak out on every stroke.

NOT CO2 emissions Its worse in volatile organics, particulates and NOx. Mostly volatile organics due to the two stroke cycle. But not because a chainsaw is particularly bad, but because a Camry is exceptionally good. Why is the Camry good

A lot of Italian olive oil isnt from olives. There was a huge scandal a few years ago of local producers adulterating olive oil (right around the time the dioxin laced mozzarella happened) Thats why I buy Californian or Greek olive oil. Not

NP "very conservative"? Milquetoast, wanna-lose conservative is how I would describe them. Half their webpage is dedicated to weed smoking and its lifestyle.

A hybrid takes care of the brakes. What are the next big consumable in an ICE vs EV? Oil changes? Hardly a deal breaker. Air filters? $10 and often easier to instal than the cabin air filter. With fuel injection, spark plugs can easily go 1

This is an excellent question but a massive one to answer. Probably the length of a scientific paper. It'd involve thermo, engineering economics, etc. To keep it short, yes there is a return to scale, but it's a diminishing one. G

Its a regulatory bet, not an engineering one. The West is making a civilizational bet on EVs so it's not Ford that loses the bet, its the entire West. From a technical POV, I disagree with the bet. I think hybridization of ICE while
