I went through this in the past and my options auto updated and exercising them was not a problem (1/x) price per share for (n*x) options. IANAL but I don't believe the company could legally split stock without your options being

Why does the example use different domains in the base URLs? Does the app do hard navigation between those?

The article argues that nothing is forever. There may be technology changes in the future that make DNS providers obsolete. So that money is less guaranteed over time than an endowment.

I won a unit from Twilio conference. I haven't touched it in a year but I often think about turning it back on. I really hope they get more content for it.

Great stuff, as always. I liked this quote: > If you expect failure to happen on an external service, do not make its presence a guarantee of your system. We’re dealing with the real world here, and failure of external dependencies is al

An 83b election is to be issued at the time of grant, not the time of exercise.

Yes, this is my understanding as well. You owe a lot of taxes initially (that you to pay to even exercise) and then you wouldn't pay AGAIN if the company goes bust. That would, of course, suck, but you wouldn't "owe more"

My understanding here is that you wouldn't owe taxes if you sold exercised options (at loss or even) because you would make no gains. You may even be able to write off some taxes? I'm not exactly sure what happened with people who

Yes, I read it this same way. I'm not really sure that's an outrageous statement.... I thought initially that Nest meant thermostats and was shocked, but it's pretty clear he's talking about Nest Cameras.

Would it be possible to have 2 charts with synced crosshairs on this? I have a little open-source application that grabs stats from Elixir nodes and its plotting library is pretty slow. Lining up multiple crosshairs allows pinpointing a mom

I'm really curious about the latency metric. I'm running elasticache redis and the round trip average of our Redis get commands is around 1ms. We may have 5-10 in a transaction and look for 10-20ms total time. Anecdotal, but it le

I don't think that's a fair conclusion to reach. One channel can reasonably be done from home while the other requires going to the store. I believe web accessibility is net good, though.

It would be feasible to upgrade if you were incentivized to make it work. It sounds like some programs, particular Adobe which changed its licensing model, are not incentivized to make it work. This is fine for the producer, who can drop su

Postgres jsonb column type has worked great without much effort. The old JSON type wasn't great and required special index, but that's decently in the past now. Not sure of MySQL in this aspect.

If the courthouse "belonged to the taxpayers of Dallas County", who could authorize the break in? This was a really confusing/nuanced piece of the story and I'm not sure what's correct on it.

I think this is a good point. Don't rollback if you don't know why your new code is giving you problems. You may fix things with the rollback, or you may put yourself in a worse situation where the forward/backwards compatibi

One technique I use to solve this is to name each stage of a complex pipeline with tuple pairs. Then I can pattern match on a specific error. I've found that I haven't ever written crazy error handling and so this has worked well

I think one of the big points about being a true OO language is that the only way to talk to a process is via message passing. To me, the handle concept makes sense when you consider that it's handling a message in its mailbox.
