Wow. I buy shoes but I've never seen this (I buy to wear). Why is it that a shoe which I wear and have had for multiple years doesn't look anything like that? Is it only certain shoes, based on material?

We do this for several key elements of a high throughput service. It keeps the critical path local only. The flow is to dual write to our rdms and a local process. The process either stores in ETS or an process state map. It also broadcasts

Why should LI be able to sell you the data (Recruiter service) that they don't own? The difference in this analogy is that films are fully the IP of the production company but LI sells data that they don't explicitly own.

Do you get the ACL from Zanzibar to your data store using a watch? I'm just confirming that replication is the best strategy and there's not some magic that I'm not aware of

To clarify, I do think that this post gives good alternatives because most spam is not targeted. However, you must do something like this if you're a big site or a small site who pissed someone off

I used to use a script to combat uncustomized spam. A hidden input would get populated with my birthday in hex and then checked on the server. Every JS based client would be able to use the forms and we went back to math captcha for noscrip

What's an alternative that works at scale, though? It's easy to say "this is bad for these reasons, don't use it" while ignoring that there's not really better options once you get targeted.

How would you deal with questions like "provide all content accessible to a user" in a system like this? Would you watch and replicate to your own database?

Sharding is not just about data storage. You can shard parallel units of work across multiple CPU cores in order to prevent single CPU bottlenecks. Erlang encourages shardable solutions from OTP concepts being so strongly integrated into Er
