Count me among the minority then - one of the first things I do in a game is turn the sound effects and background music as low as possible - but I don't care either way as long as I can skip it. Especially if I've already seen&#x

They don't seem to check whether the hostname you're requesting a cert for resolves. At least with certbot, it requests the cert, creates the challenge record, then removes it after receiving the signed cert.

The problem with this is that steel is a large class of alloys, with a wide variety of properties depending on the chemical and physical makeup of an alloy. Even "types of steel" that people are familiar with - e.g. stainless stee

Apologies for this jumbled recollection and rant. I worked for a Vista-owned company for about 8 years. We were a division of a larger company spun out and sold to Vista. We eventually merged with a couple of other Vista purchases. The init

We do two strange things (right now) that only seem to work with Docker Desktop for Mac <=4.3.2: We use registry mirrors to access a registry over an SSH tunnel. Doesn't seem to work with Docker via Colima, etc. as it's initiat

Don't get too riled up about this. "Arizona" introduced nothing. State Senator Rogers did. It's probably not going to make it out of committee in the AZ legislature. I'd be surprised if anyone took it seriously. Edi

I set up a private Nitter instance to browse. It works well, and I would recommend other people give it a try. I'm using the Privacy Redirect extension in Firefox to auto-redirect to Nitter. I'm doing the same thing with Invidious

I really expected that we'd see a change in my lifetime, that GPs in particular would be replaced by a lower-cost Watson descendant, with there being some other role for patient interaction, wet work, and data entry (perhaps just nurse

This is a tangent but I wonder if 24fps is what you should consider acceptable today. Yes, movies are 24fps, but I've always felt like that was a byproduct of economics which we're stuck with now because of tradition. No one wants

I didn't know anything about this. The article talks about goldfish specifically - is this true for other fish? My mother has had one of those really frilly fighting fish (betta?) in a bowl for I think several years. The bowl is larger

IDK about that. They were certainly upset about VCRs back in the day. It's been covered ad nauseam at this point: content owners want to be able to dictate the who, what, when, where, and how of content consumption. They have enough mo
