It's anecdotes like these that reinforce my belief that for a bootstrapping pre-success founder it's easier to focus on revenue rather than investment. The growth curve might be slower, but the friction you face as a first time entrepreneur

This is what happens when people and businesses choose to lock themselves in a walled garden they do not control. All the businesses out there actively marketing their Facebook page should take heed. Set up and market a proper website; util

When I saw the headline I assumed they'd be giving them away for free in exchange for ad space over the lifetime ownership of the device.

Lovely site, the UI is very easy on the eyes and I love the filter style. My only complaint is with content really; it seems like a large percentage of the activities are already just business listings (mostly restaurants). How do you inte

I wonder if someone could learn Node simply by browsing HN in this format for a few weeks.

Wow, can you share any more information about the successful versus unsuccessful ads? Creating 300 ads seems like an awfully large time investment.

One suggestion, I find it very difficult to follow when other people are zooming the notes in and out; maybe the note zoom level should be client specific, not shared.

Amazing promo video, can you guys go into a little more detail about the process you used to create it? Did you handle all the coordination between the artist, sound team, and animators?

Windsoc does look like a good idea, implementing individual APIs is a pain. I'm no YC alum, and I'm not sure if there are any competitors providing the same service; but it sounds like a promising service.

Psychonauts is a great game, but it wouldn't be categorized in the adventure genre - at least not in the vein this article is referring to (old school point and click puzzle solving).
