These new apps are UWP based so a lot of things, such as access to the whole file system, running processes, etc. is not possible as the app is sandboxed.

I would be ok with this as it would mean I can get noise cancelling headphones that are powered via the connection to the phone and don't need their own power source. Yes it will make the $3 headphones more expensive but considering I

This reminds me of a Dell laptop I had a number of years ago that had a WRGB display that was gorgeous . I still think it looked better (albeit lower res) than current high-end laptop displays. Why did WRGB never catch on? It seemed so goo

I would love to see an "official" Cinnamon build in the way we have Xubuntu, etc.

Shame they didn't drop the 3.5mm jack on the right for a second USB-C port. That is the only flaw for me.

Will be interesting when Windows comes (well via an update) with a later version of bash than OS X!

With modern SSD that isn't going to be a concern. You can write to them at full speed constantly for months and real world tests have shown them to last just fine and you are not going to max out 500MB/s writes to an SSD with log

People laugh at me but as I work mostly in Java I don't have many cross-platform bugs. The best I had with C++ cross-platform was Qt but even that has weird issues which are a real pain to track down sometimes.

I like the effort to make things easier but it would have made much more sense to just make use of a short and friendly URL which the user can easily share with someone rather than having to take a photo of a QR core.

Of course it can be our universe. It is turtles all the way down as she once said. Of course we could just be on one of the turtles in the middle.

It isn't "pseudoscience/creationism". If anything it is philosophy. Anyway a universe simulation doesn't sound any more stupid (to me) than any other reason for the universe being here.

Considering all the fuss Apple made about the new design of the Mac Pro it is strange they have not kept it top of the line. I guess they care more about the 5K iMac and MacBook being super thin and pretty.
